Any search performed in the CODES section will not only search through the ICD-9-CM codes and descriptions for a match, but also include searches throughout:
• All main and subterms in the Alphabetical Index
• All descriptions in the Table of Drugs and Chemicals
• All descriptions in the Table of Neoplasms
• A list of common abbreviations (i.e. fx=fracture, CHF=congestive heart failure, etc)
Results will be matched to their associated codes (and displayed in) the CODES section.
If you wish to turn the "Enhanced Search" feature off, click the "SEARCH OPTIONS" button and deselect the appropriate checkmark box. Your changes will persist until you change them back or begin a new session.
